UA Little Rock Receives Donation to Strengthen Cybersecurity Program

UA Little Rock is bolstering its reputation as a leader in cybersecurity education thanks to a $750,000 grant awarded as part of the $26.7 million HIRED training grants announced by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. The grants will help to elevate workforce training programs across the state and specifically focus on high-demand industries like cybersecurity. 

The funding is expected to significantly enhance the UA Little Rock’s cybersecurity program, ensuring students are equipped with innovative skills and the knowledge to meet the demands of the digital age. Cybersecurity at UA Little Rock is known for its technical expertise as well as its focus on practical everyday usage. The new funding will enhance faculty resources, lab technology, and internship opportunities, creating a conduit of skilled professionals ready to protect critical infrastructures and private data. 

Partnerships between higher education and state leadership will help prepare students for careers in cybersecurity that have a lasting impact in a professional landscape that continues to change and evolve.
