UA Little Rock’s Admissions Experience Day was an exciting opportunity for prospective students and their families to explore campus life, attend example classes, and learn about the many resources available. As part of this immersive event, the Emerging Analytics Center (EAC) offered a cutting-edge experience featuring some of our most exciting augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) demos.
On Thursday, the EAC showcased:
- Tulsa Zoo in the CAVE – A fully immersive VR experience bringing the Tulsa Zoo to life in a stunning virtual space.
- Maximus AR – An interactive AR demo that allows students to engage with a virtual character in real time.
- AR Spook Splat – A fun, interactive AR game bringing Halloween-themed elements to life.
- CrimeScene 360 – A forensic investigation simulation where students can play detective and solve a virtual mystery.
The event not only provided students with a thrilling taste of the latest technological innovations but also showcased how the EAC is leading the charge in AR and VR application development. The hands-on demos highlighted the center’s role in pushing the boundaries, offering students a chance to envision future careers in fields like computer science, information science, digital arts, game design, cybersecurity, and forensic technology.
Overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees confirmed the event’s success. Prospective students seemed excited about UA Little Rock’s technology-driven programs. We are proud of the EAC team for their creativity, technical expertise, and ability to engage students with complex technology in an accessible and exciting way.
